Job Description:
The Alton Fire Department Explorers Program is designed to educate and engage young people in fire operations, inspiring them to consider a future career in the firefighting profession. Participants in the Explorer Program gain insight into the complexities of the fire service while learning important values related to public service, citizenship, community involvement, and volunteerism. To qualify, applicants must be between fourteen (14) and twenty (20) years old (before their 21st birthday), maintain a minimum C average in school, and have no criminal record.
