ALTON MUNICIPAL BAND

REHEARSALS are being held in the Ringhausen music building (band room) at Lewis and Clark Community College. Musicians will follow all Lewis and Clark Community College Health Protocols. If the college institutes a mask mandate, the band will simultaneously institute a mandate for bell covers. Band members are obligated to follow any health order issued by Lewis and Clark Community College as long as they are on campus.

The full Alton Municipal Band performs on Thursdays in the gazebo at Riverview Park at 7:30 pm, and on Sundays near the Lucy Playhouse in Haskell Park at 7 pm.  Now in its 132nd consecutive season of summer concerts, we welcome and encourage the community to visit the parks for some quality outdoor time with family and friends. The season will feature guest soloists performing outside with the entire band, the traditional kiddie march for children through the park, and smaller ensembles at various locations around Alton, including the Farmers’ Market on Saturdays.

BOARD MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS

The City of Alton greatly appreciates the expertise and professionalism of its public members who serve on the Alton Municipal Band Board and volunteer time to support the city band. Board members are volunteers who participate in meetings and provide help, advice, and guidance to the organization. Volunteers help with promotions, performances, and networking in the community. Volunteering is a great way for band members and area residents to get involved and make a difference. Submit your volunteer contact information or board nominations to [email protected].
